Description
1. Board Overview
The FMC147 is a four-channel multi-mode A/D FMC that fully complies with the VITA 57.1 standard. The card provides four 10-bit ADC channels, enabling the channels to sample 4, 2, or 1 channels simultaneously, with a sampling rate of 2.5 GSPS (2-channel mode). It is a localized model of the 4DSP FMC126.
The sampling clock can be provided externally via a coaxial cable connection, or by an internal clock source (optionally locked to an external reference). An additional trigger input allows custom sampling control.
The FMC147 daughter card is mechanically and electrically compliant with the established ANSI/VITA 57.1 FMC standard. The FMC147 features a HPC (High Pin Count) 400-pin connector, front panel I/O, and can be used in a conduction cooled environment.
The design is based on the E2V Quad A/D EV10AQ190 chipset, with DDR LVDS outputs. The analog signals are input on the front panel with coaxial connections, and have separate calibration circuits to fine-tune the gain, offset, and phase.
FMC147 can flexibly control the sampling frequency and calibration through the clock source of I2C serial communication bus. In addition, the card is equipped with power supply and temperature monitoring, and provides several power-down modes to shut down unused functions.

4. The supporting carrier card

The FMC147 comes with an integrated crosspoint switch that allows flexible mapping of the converter's analog inputs. Unused converters can be placed in standby mode, or a full standby mode can be used to power down all channels. The digital output interface is 4 10-bit DDR LVDS buses at 1.25Gbps (full speed sampling) of the FMC147 compromise.
